The mechanical properties of honeycomb sandwich designs depend on concrete combination of used skins and honeycomb core. It is possible to provide equal strength, varying depth of a used paper and size of a cell. The door made from large cell honeycomb with skins from MDF has integral density of 140 kg / m3 and maintains at compression load about 2000 kg.

Heat conduction of honeycomb core (paper has 120 microns thickness and honeycomb cell is 8 mm) is 0.09 J / (m2 K) and is determined by convective carry of heat. With increase of the honeycomb cell size the heat convection should be augmented.

The physical-mechanical characteristics of honeycomb core depend on a plenty of parameters, but determining are the size of a cell of honeycomb core and honeycomb stuff.

At usage of the same type of a stuff as initial for manufacturing honeycomb, for example aluminium foils, it is possible, changing its thickness and mark, to receive other physical-mechanical characteristics.

Honeycomb core and panels process by special structures for the special purposes (flame resistance, moisture resistance, stability to musty funguses).
